John Mosconi (a.k.a String King) began his career as a luthier in 1989. He learned lot about guitar repair and refinishing/restoration through trial and error, reading many books and a lot of advice from other experienced fellow luthiers.
He and a former partner were buying used pieces for resale that were victims of poor amateur refinishing and restoring and that's where he gained a reputation as a refinisher.
In the mid 90's as he gained more experience with repairs he then began to work at building acoustic guitars at first from Martin kits. Then as time went on, made custom arch tops and flat tops from scratch on a per order basis.
He is well known in the Akron and Cleveland, Ohio area for his skill's in customizing, custom conversions and of course high quality finishes.
John is a factory authorized repairman for Guild, Gibson/Epiphone, Taylor and Ovation guitars. Over the years he as restored, customized and refinished hundreds of guitars.
